Thanks

As always, thanks for the comments on the last post.

FYI:  I am not involving Ant at all.  We talk everyday, he usually calls me but today I called him.  He offered to make some calls and I said NO!  No, no, no.  He said he was glad I said that.  He reminded me as all of you did - to not do a damn thing.  Believe me, I'm not.  I am 100% not even tempted to contact him.

Only time will tell what happens with Keven.

In the meantime, I have plenty to do in my own life.  My friend Kathy and I have plans to have FUN in 2012.  That should give me something to share on blog posts :)

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

Sorry to hear that Keven took off ... hopefully he will find his way back again and begin to sort himself out. In the meantime, please make sure that you take good care of yourself, Barbara ... sending hugs xxx

Here is to 2012, sweet Barbara. Life is short..it's your time now.

Every day can be good if I want it to be. You have the right idea to keep the focus on you.

In the New Year, do good things for yourself. Treat yourself as the special person that you are. Money is wasted on Keven right now. Just love him from afar and keep the focus on yourself, like Syd says. It takes practice, but it works. If I can do it, you can do it.

I'm sorry Keven took off. It is time to let go - Do not answer your phone if you think it might be him. I find it easier that way, then I am not sucked in and he stops calling when he needs something from me. Eventually I get a call just asking how I am (3 months later but, that is OK). Your time talking with Anthony should not be spent talking about Keven. He's trying to get his life on track and should not worry about Keven. I know it's so hard Barbara but, your on the right path with your thinking. Time for YOU!

Good for you!

Letting go and letting God is so much easier said than done; but the really good things in our lives are the hardest. This time, for you, you need to focus on you and let God take care of Keven.

I hope you can count your blessings (the number of people that care about you and that you care about I hope is at the top of your list). So many many people care about you, because you have earned our love and respect.

It is hard to do, but it will be what is best for Keven and more importantly what is best for you.

great comments, all appreciated

The hard part today is seeing my mom suffer because of it.

One of the philosophies in Zen is that everything that happens to you is the best thing that can happen to you. I've always believed that, but at times like this its a stretch.

I'm blessed to have the support of this community and my close friends....some of this community is my closest friends! We rock.

Barbara,
I am sorry. This is really hard stuff. You get alot of great advice fron the other bloggers and I feel like they are talking to me also.
My son(addict) hopped into a truck from here in upstate NY and last I knew (about 5 days ago) he had just gotten out of the truck on Rt 20 at 2am near Belden(sp) Nebraska. We spoke to the driver and do not know where he is. The fear is numbing but we must carry on. I will pray for you, Keven and your family. May our sons and other addicts embrace recovery. Thank you for blogging, you are a help to me.

Lauren, wish I could give you a hug right now. It is really hard stuff. There's some comfort in knowing we are not alone, that others understand because they are in the same situation. I'll pray for your family too. I hope you hear from him soon.

Thank you for reading here.

I thank God that you are becoming stronger with every post you write.. with every trial.. with every heartbreak.. and with every shattered dream. You are an amazing person dear friend and I so admire the grace that you are showing all of us in this gut wrenching time.
