Meth Sucks but I'm Smiling

I'm used to seeing Keven on heroin, and have seen him on various types of speed, but meth is like nothing else - not crazy making like bath salts, but its UGLY.  The twitching, the picking, the weirdness, the non-stop pacing, etc.  Kev used to arrogantly put down "tweakers", now he is one.

I just want to clarify that I am not being sucked back into his choices, nor Anthony's.  I am going to pick him up this morning and take him to the doctor, then drive him to a detox.  I've always said I will help him only when it involves positive steps toward recovery.

As for the other one - he is not in jail.  He's in the hospital with a broken ankle (got it running from the cops, and for once he got away).  He begged and pleaded with me to come see him last night (they kept him because of his severe dehydration).  I wouldn't talk to him, I sent him a text that said "I'm following your advice, you told me to cut all contact with Keven because he was using.  Call me when you have 6 months".

The good news is, I'm calm.  I'm not upset.  I'm having a delicious cup of coffee made by my new FREE Keurig coffee maker (also a year's worth of free coffee!).

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

Hi Barbara,
This is my first time posting. I came across your blog Christmas night after I returned home from holiday visiting. I have not read all of your blog but the title Jail? caught my attention. My brother is an oxycotin addict who's addiction has escalated in the recent 6 months. He lives in Florida, I in PA. Well the reason Jail caught my eye is because on Christmas Eve morning my nephew called with the news that my brother was in jail. First reaction was anger(nice Christmas present for the family). Then that sick feeling in my stomach took over but then I told myself STOP I will not let this spoil my Christmas. You see the night before as I prayed I finally gave this problem to the Lord. I just could not continue anymore trying to fix something that I can't control.I also told myself that I would not let anything spoil my Christmas and I stayed true to that promise. I have not spoke to my brother as of yet but I will no longer enable him . I am there to support him but I will not bail him out. This could be his rock bottom and he needs to deal with it.

I'm reading your quote right above this comment box and reflecting on it....

I've never used that kind of coffee but it sounds good.

Good for you and keep being good to yourself.

Nothing new to say today, Barbara...just thinking of you and hoping that you enjoy a great cup of coffee once you get Keven settled into detox. Take care.

Oh B said that too. First it was H is for junkies I would never do that. Then "tweakers are gross". But when he couldn't get H he got meth and came over tearing apart the garage looking for stuff of his to sell. I had never seen him like that and I stood back amazed, the sweating, pacing, anger, picking, etc. I composed myself enough to pull the tv out of his arms and tell him to get out.

He said he didn't like meth but if H or something else wasn't available he would use anything and everything.

I hope Keven is in detox now. I hope he is safe. Is Anthony in jail?

Spuns like the drama never stops. Anthony lied (imagine that), like I thought, once is never enough. So Keven is going to detox and Anthony is in the hospital? I am confused. Will he be going to jail since he ran from the cops?

P.S. "Sounds" should have been my first word. It was late.... :)
