I Got To Meet One of You Today!!!

I had the PLEASURE of meeting Lisa C today!  It was like being with a long time friend even though we had never met.  She is even more wonderful in person than on her blog (if you can imagine that!).  Oh how I wish we could ALL meet up someplace.  I think other people that know what we experience as parents of addicts can be understanding and empathetic, but there is no way you can KNOW what it feels like unless you've been in the unwanted shoes.

Lisa and I talked about how it is to find a new blogger just starting out on this "journey" and remembering having the exact same reactions and ideas when we were new to all this.  I just want to encourage those people by saying:  There will be a day when you can sit and laugh and have a wonderful time again.  I sure did today!

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

I so enjoyed spending the afternoon with you and getting to know you in person...and lunch was an extra bonus! I look forward to getting together again after the holidays.

And for our little community here (at least those that are in Southern California) I am going to through a little party/get-together after the first of the year...and Ron...you and the Mrs. can ride right on out here on your motorcycle and join us! :)

I am happy for all of you. Just wanted to tell you that here in the northeast it is freezing and the snow is falling!

Nice that you met a fellow blogger. Laughter is such an important part of recovery.

Lisa,

Right now the plan for next year is to ride the PCH from San Fran to LA. That will be a big trip aboout 4000 miles. Don't have a timetable yet but that is what we are talking right now.

Ron, if you are out here and don't meet us I will never speak to you again :) We will stand along the highway somewhere between LA and SF and flag you down. We'll just look for a gray haired guy with a gorgeous woman on the back of his bike.

Anna, I have heard about the weather there this year....I hope you can stay warm. I would love to meet you someday!

Syd, yes, it was great.

Her Big Sad - Woman - my only New's Year Resolution this year is to meet YOU!

Lisa, it was wonderful!

wow !! That is so great ! I know I wasn't even involved, but when I just now read this, it brought tears to my eyes,...just touching. Yes,Barbara,...you put it into words so clearly....unless you're in the unwanted shoes...it's hard to really understand what it's like. I am SO grateful for all of you. You're all what's kept me going forward, and coping with all of this. Blessings to all of you.

I've been a heroin addict for nearly fourteen years, I've been through so many different treatments and in that time only managed to get 18months totally clean, i'm experimenting with ibogaine at the moment and it seems to work, short term at least!
I've written up some of it on my new blog anyways if your interested...

Here's my blog
