Off Topic...

How  many of you sing along with the radio out LOUD while driving?  I had to run an errand at lunch and got some great songs to belt out:

Janis, "Piece of My Heart"
U2, "In the Name of Love"
Queen, "Someone to Love"
Michael, "Man in the Mirror"
and
Green Day, "Wake Me Up When September Comes".

Janis was the best.  So sad that we lost her to the drug this blog is about :(

So - do you sing along?  If so, when alone or with others?  and most importantly, who's your favorites to sing along with?

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

I actually sound JUST like Janis when I am in my car alone with the volume cranked up! ;-)

AC/DC-Back in Black
Janis Joplin- Me and Bobby McGee
Pasty Cline - I fall to pieces
Black Eye Peas - Boom Boom Boom
Adele- Rolling in the Deep
Aretha Franklin - RESPECT

Just some of my favorites!

Thanks for the fun break!

Absolutely!
Singing is so good for you. I don't drive but I sing when I cook and clean. LOve these

Bob Dylan - It aint me babe
James - Sometimes (belter)
Melanie - Babe rainbow (wailer)
Adele(bob dylan) - To make you feel my love (crooner)

O I could go on. I love music/voices/lyrics. Can't beat a good old Charles Wesley hymn either. "And can it be" is one of my faves. Such words. Good to "see" you singing. Stay strong. With love x

Hi Barbara, I always sing along to the radio ... but only when alone ... it's scary for others in the car when I sing !!! My favorites are Queen, but anything 80s and earlier works for me !!!

Anything Motown will get me going.

Temptations: My Girl (did you know this is the most requested song ever on radio stations?)

Marvin Gaye: Heard It Thru the Grapevine

Martha/Vandellas: Dancin in the Street

Marvin Gaye & Tammy Tyrell: Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing

Aretha: Respect and You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Born Woman

Super Freak, Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Baby Love--I could go on and on!

I sing in the car!
Queen: Bohemian Rapsody
Marvin Gaye: Got to give it up
CCR: Green River
Bobby Gentry: Ode to Billy Joe
Al Green: Let's stay together
Waylon Jennings: Are you sure Hank done it this Way (Waylon being one of my all time favorites.)
Alabama: Her and I
Just about anything by the Rolling Stones.
I love music. Most of these take me back to happy, special times.

Ohhh, no no no...I don't sing in the car. I am such a mature adult I listen to books while I drive. Really, I know it sounds so dry, but I love it! I drive a lot (between 50-100 miles a day) almost every day of the week and they just keep me so entertained.

Janis reminds me too much of my own drug history! And that was a long dang time ago!

I love almost all music and sing loudly along.

One of my favorite old songs to scream along with is Sunshine Go Away Today - Jonathan Edwards.

Hi, Barbara.

Just to let you know, I do read your blog regularly to find out what's going on. I rarely comment, though, because I just don't know anything about it.

This one, though... well, of course I sing along! Not in the car, as I don't drive much and don't listen to music when I do because it's too noisy. At home, though... put on the headphones and hum along with
Karan Casey
Mark Knopfler
Oodoo
Bach
Beethoven
Mary Travers
Sting
Herdman, Hills and Mangsen
Vivaldi
Vaughan Williams
Solas

Well, you get the idea. Music as a privately participatory activity.

And some days, about all I can manage is still being here.

Today, it was Tracy Chapman, "Fast Car", just because it was that kind of day! I've been listening to Ludovico
Einaudi a lot, though. no words, sadly, but I can get utterly lost in it (which does not help my acute lack of anything resembling a sense of direction).

Sonya Isaacs
Eva Cassidy

People on the road beside me somethimes throw recording contracts thru my window. If a traffic light is long, I'll step out and take a bow.

yes of course.

A low spark of the high heeled boys by traffic and time by pink floyd.
