Here's The Latest...

Ok.  Last night he called right after I posted the last update.  He was at jail and they would NOT take him because his warrant was not in the system yet.  So he asked me to pick him up and drive him to a detox because that was the only alternative he had.  His PO wanted him in jail OR in a detox.

I agreed to pick him up because I always support him in trying to do the right thing.

I left the house at 12:30 am and got back at 3:45 am.  We drove to three detoxes and two had no beds, the third wanted to charge us $800 a night for a minumum of 6 nights. So then we went to a hospital that had a detox and after doing the initial paperwork they said to come back in ten hours because there was no one there to do insurance stuff.

At this point I was literally feeling sick so we came home and went to bed.  He is not suppose to be there but he has proof of how hard he tried to do the right thing.

I slept for 5 hours and now we have to go back to the hospital to check him in.  Unless he decides to try jail again, but I doubt he will choose that.

I am disappointed that we could not get him help last night :(

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

I'm hoping when you got to the hospital detox this morning, that the right person was there and they did admit him. I'm also hoping that you're now home and catching up on some sleep...wow,..you must be thoroughly exhausted and drained, physically and emotionally. Meanwhile, I'm still a little confused as to what this means with the recovery court/legal system ? Does this mean that he's totally out of that? Or do you not know yet? How was Keven when you (hopefully) said goodbye and left him at the hospital detox?...meaning, in his attitude and demeanor? Sigh. Maybe I also haven't read closely enough...but how did this happen? Was it when he was out on the 1 day pass with the girlfriend? Oh Barbara...I'm so sorry about all of it...just like we all are. Please get some rest and just work on the one day at a time plan...that is all you can do. MANY people are praying for Keven and you...and that's a powerful thing in the best, most healing and positive way.

Lori, I wish I were home resting too :) I am home, and Keven is resting. He could not sleep last night so I am glad he is now. We are still deciding the next step in hopes that he can get a hold of his PO and her directive (she's playing softball with her people, Keven had planned to be there).

Its confusing so hopefully this will clear up some of your questions:

1. He did not use with the GF. He lied to me and said he used at his rehab. You will never guess who gave him the heroin (I say that with total sarcasm). Good old Anthony. F.

2. We don't know if he is kicked out of the program yet but since he's choosing to do the right thing (after a day of getting high) they may just sanction him. That's our hope.

3. Unidos (his rehab) may let him back on Monday, this would be the BEST. They actually had a meeting just to talk about him because so many of the guys were upset by what happened.

4. His demeanor is good. He is humble and anxious to do the right thing and get back on track. I can always tell by looking in his eyes if he's bullshitting or not, and he's not. He regrets what he did and doesn't want to lose all he has going for him right now.

5. I love you. Thanks for caring. I need to catch up on other blogs later to see how everyone else is doing. Hope D is good.

Ok now that is one of my pet peeves. No one there to handle the insurance aspect...how about you admit him and we handle that later. my drug addict son is here NOW, consenting to be admitted NOW. 10 minutes can change a detoxing addicts mind into a million different directions. I always thought that people were more important than money and red tape. Sincerely signed Pollyanna. :o)

Annette, you made me laugh :)

I agree about red tape and money. Gee, if people like us ran the world we'd all just get along and be happy and help each other and there would be no war, poverty, addiction...

As the Beach Boys said...wouldn't it be nice? Sigh... Thank you Barbara...I love you too. And the last thing you probably needed was me peppering you with questions...so thank you for clearing it up. And OMG....I am so damn mad at Anthony!!!! WTF. :( I am praying that they take him(Keven) back into the rehab. on Monday. D is doing pretty well,..thanks for asking. I am way behind on blogging. At the moment(all we have,as you know)..he's clean, after his recent relapse on June 16th. One day at a time, one day at a time. Let's hope all that Keven's been doing for these past 6 mo.s(WOW)will sway the people at the rehab to give him that chance that he needs to stay.

That pisses me off - that is what we had to pay just over $800.00 per day for a minimum of 7 days. Thanks to my Husband who figured out which credit card he had enough on to do it because there is no way I could have. I don't even think Insurance pays for Detox even the good insurance.

I think I would have broken down if I had finally found a place and then had to wait to get him back in. They probably would have held me in a psyche ward.

ANTHONY???? How did they get in touch with Keven being in rehab? Misery loves company I know that has happened to my son when he was sober and yet I know he has done the same thing to another "sober" kid.

Please keep us posted. I am glad he is safe with you for now and he wants to go back.

Anthony is trouble. Sorry Barbara but it would be better if he were gone from both your lives.

I agree with Syd.

Barbara - I've been praying for you and Keven! I also believe that is the single most important thing you can ask everyone you know to do for you and Keven! I agree that Anthony should not be a part of your life now!

Oh, I would be soooo frustrated. You try everything and are thwarted at every direction. I hope today goes better.
