Two Weeks from Today (Wed.) He Will Be HOME!

In a way, it doesn't seem like he's been gone for six entire months...but he has.

It was August 20th when he got taken into custody right there in the courtroom for being under the influence.

I'll never forget that phone call from him as I was boarding a plane:

"mom, I'm in jail."

I got mad:

"That is NOT funny, don't mess around with me like that."

He said:

"I'm serious, they arrested me in court.  I fell asleep.  They said I was under the influence and they busted me.  I'm in a holding cell, they let me call you."

Me:

"Shit."

So that was the beginning of 3 months spent in jail.
Then he got into PH, which been the BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO HIM!

I'm sure I'll write more about it as the time gets closer.   I am cautiously optimist, a bit nervous and very happy.

Anthony Update:  Not sure what to say.  His grandma called me tonight worried about him, luckily she talked a lot so I didn't have to say too much because I didnt' want to worry her more by adding my own concerns.  He's suppose to show up at the rehab tomorrow for assesment.  We'll see what happens.

QUESTION:  what do you think of young men wearing eye make-up?  Is it weird?  Does it mean something?  I know it was popular a few years ago.  Is it a trend again?

Peace, Hope and Love,
Barbara

Keep the faith with your "boyz". They both are gaining valuable time and information!

I don't know if it is a trend or not, but what I do know is that my son Jake wouldn't be caught dead with eye makeup...

The make up thing is weird, but I don't really care one way or the other about it.
I am excited and anxious at the same time that Keven is coming home. I do hope it goes well.

My son went to jail a week after Keven. He won't be out though until towards the end of March. More time to heal!! I'm sure you have mixed emotions.

Here is the midwest - guys don't wear eye makeup.

So this is where you have been! Are you ending the old blog? I'll update my link to this one.

Great news on K! I did an H&I panel at the Salvation Army last weekend. It's a free 6 month program. It may be an option for A. Beautiful home in Anaheim. Just thought I'd pass that on...

Barbara,
Your comment on my Blog really made my day. Thanks SO much for leaving it and for becoming a follower of my new blog, by the way, to you for which I owe the credit for inspiring me to begin writing! So yea, ur comment made my day yesterday...so thanks! I just want you to know I pray for you and your boys and I think you are pretty awesome for sticking by them through this. And yes you were correct. Oxycontin is my drug. After suffering a broken neck and many surgeries to follow, it has been my best friend, and at the same time it is the devil! But I'll beat it.... I will.... I look forward to getting to know you!

Barbara, Keith Richards wears eye makeup. It must be okay. I think that it's part of the "rocker" culture to an extent. Who knows?? I have great eyes without makeup--LOL.

The eye make up is cool.. !!

My 14 year old son would rather be caught dead too.lol. He likes short hair; and clean cut look; like the Yankees always had to be clean cut back in the day.

But I like the ARTSY Look..!!--if not overdone..

Keven can get away with it..he has the right look.

I want to see you drawing again.. Barbara..you have talent.. artsy too.

I'm sure there will be butterflies in the stomach..for both of you. I wish K the best!

Andrew would not/has not ever worn make up.

To Everyone: So far the guys wearing eye make up thing seems to be a bit odd (unless of course your A rock star (Keith R. etc), an actor playing a pirate (Johnny D.) or a singer (Adam L.)

Anthony is the one sportin the liner and eyeshadow...his grandma called me since I'm "younger" and might understand it better. I said it wasn't common for guys, but as long as he didn't start wearing it daily, not to worry.

Judy, thanks, I am keeping the faith.

Lacey, Me too!

Sherry, I remember your son going into jail. What are his plans when he gets out?

Kay, I thought you just didn't like me anymore :) I've been here awhile glad you found me I thought I'd let you know...you've been a BIT BUSY lately. Hugs.

Kali, you are welcome! You made my day by what you said here! I look forward to getting to know you too!

Syd, no doubt you look great sans eyemake-up !! (what about lipstick?)

Ms. H, I think Kev could pull it off, not sure about Ant. I love the artsy look too, actually I like all types of men. I think I may move to Manhattan someday, seems to be a lot of eligible men there :)

Lou, Andrew is a great looking guy, that's for sure. We do have butterflies!

I know that butterfly feeling all too well. I am keeping the fatih for K and you both, and I hope A shows up to the rehab. As for the eye thing, I think it actually is an old trend coming back around a bit. Remember when Queen was the hottest band around (well, one of them) with the glam rock stuff. Well, that all seems to be coming back around and the young guys express themselves through that. I am thinking of you.

Barbara,

It is better for them to get their thrills from eye makeup than from drugs.

To me (I'm 28) eye make-up means you are goth, into indie punk stuff, gay, or all of the above to an extent. It's better than popping your collar though, which just means you are influenced by dbags or may already be a dbag. Regardless, good luck he sounds like a good kid!
