I Skipped Family Group Night

My mom and sister went to Family Group Night this evening, I chose not to go.  I decided it would be good to distance myself a little bit.  He seems to be doing good at the moment.

UPDATE:  I heard it went well.  K was on a panel where the parents got to ask questions.  He was also wearing khakis and an oxford shirt because of his "job" there at PH.  I have never seen my son dressed like that!  Oh and get this!  Last night he got to go to a play and see "Scrooge".  He said he liked it.  Sounds like he's doing so much better.  I'll just keep hoping and praying.

Peace, Hope and Love,
Barbara

Sounds like he is doing better and they are keeping him busy! I know it was hard for you to distance yourself but sometimes we just have to. I will keep hoping and praying too.

Family group night is probably something you don't want to miss often. It is there to help you learn to cope with each other.

I'm really glad Barbara. I think that hoping and praying will help you and K.

I just read your son's list of triggers. It makes me so mad that drugs do this to a life.

As the A.A. preable says "There is One who has all power, may you find Him now" God can change things, His influence is amazing. Prayer is dialoge with Him and it is a relationship. My encouragement to you to continue prayer to the One who can heal K and you. He did it for me.

They say Clothes Make the Man.

I love Ripped Jeans.. my children are slightly embarrassed of my jeans.. my one pair mainly that I wore too much.

To me they symbolized being non-materialistic; free; and they are always clean and ironed.

I feel HAPPY when I wear them. And an old environment shirt and no makeup.

Clothes should not really matter from all the books I'm reading.. but I guess they do ..

I did get dress nice for my daughter's sake when she took me to a play.. at the ballet she took me to I had on those jeans..

But the one in charge of this art program actually came up to us during intermission to talk to US for awhile. (maybe deep down he wished he had on ripped jeans.. lol). teasing.

I am praying for Keven......... such a a handsome intelligent young man. It looks like this is a New Start for him. I hope it works out.

I love the room your sister did... the colors.. the furniture .. very eye-catching and nice.. she is really good at that..

I think a New ROOM is fitting ..

There is a hole I covered in my daughter's old bedroom. I was so annoyed that her whole room smelled of alchol... the walls; the drapes.. her breathing out all those fumes .. when she lived here and drank 3-5 nights a week.

I saw a bottle of liquor in her room.. Yes.. in my house..!!!

I was so enraged.. I threw it against the wall.. and made a HOLE.

The stench was horrific in her small bedroom. And a total mess all the time. (yet she got straight As in school). .. but at home.. all liquor parahpnenial in her room.. shot glasses.. bottle where she put her liquor in to save money when going to bars.. and such. Bottle openings etc.

I threw it all out..

Good about his new room. !!
