I've listened to this speech many times, and it never gets old. Nikki has maintained his recovery for many years (9 so far).

Nikki is awesome. If I had not read his book, "The Heroin Diaries" (which I read only because I love Nik) I would have been so much less prepared for what would happen with my own son. I had no idea as I read of the evils of heroin that Keven would one day pick up a needle.

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

That was a tough book. It was one that I started nut did not finish. I am glad he is clean.

Syd, "tough" is a good adjective for it. It was graphic and vile in some parts and not for the faint of heart!

I'm immune to the "F" word and have seen a lot in my own past so I guess it didn't bother me as much as it would some people, but yeah - he does not hold back (kinda wish he would have on a few details!)

What a great speech... wasn't sure who he was speaking in front of... but wish more "government" and more drug users could have heard. He made some great points - like the "pain" killers and his history as a young child. I think that's huge.
Thanks for sharing it.
God bless.

Thanks for sharing this video, Barbara. I hadn't seen it before - and, quite honestly, didn't know who Nikki was/is. Hope I can figure out a way to save this and show it to Hayley sometime. All of these stories of hope help me to sustain my own hope for what I thought was a totally hopeless situation. Peggy
