The Latest

This will be quick, have to leave for my meeting.

Keven moved into a sober living on Wed.  He hasn't been using for at least a week now, I lost track, but he really, truly has NOT.  I can tell, plus he is testing clean.

The problem is (there is always a problem it seems) he wakes up screaming in the middle of the night due to nightmares.  They've told him its not going to work out for him to stay and he has to be out ASAP.  I think that's pretty unfair, he'd only spend two nights there when they told him this....I am hoping last night was better so they reconsider letting him stay.

As for me, I've felt very quiet this week.  Don't know how else to describe it.

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

Sometimes our souls just need quiet. Even talking about everything is just too much...we just need to sit and be still. And that is ok.

Sometimes there just isn't a force to say anything. Very understandable. I will pray that it gets better for Keven with the night terrors. Sounds overly simplified , but would one of those snore guards help in some way ? Just a thought. Thinking of you, and him too of course.

That's sad that they would ask him to leave because something he cannot control. It's not as if he's having the nightmares on purpose.

Most sober living houses are not equipped to handle the withdrawal symptoms from drugs most of the people that are living there have already detoxed and the sober living house is the next step in recovery. I don't think they were trying to be mean but the night terrors may have been disrupting the house. I hope everything works out for your son this is just so hard and draining. Keep taking care of yourself.

It's sad that when you think of sobriety treatment (whatever step you're in) involves mental rebuilding. The mental pain Keven is going through should be considered by these people. It's sad to think that something like that is enough to get him evicted from the living facility.
