Today's Episode of the Soap Opera of My Life

Just got off the phone with a cop.  Keven's gf. "L" left school today and the school called and reported her as a runaway.  She goes to a special school for addicts.

Anyhow, the cop wanted all my info and to know if she was safe.  He said he'd call her mom to ask if it was okay for her to be here, if not he'd call me back and she'd have to go back to school or home.  She only lives a few blocks from us so I would just take her home.

Keven is not even here.  He's at the appointment with the new doctor.  He would not allow me to I didn't.

Oh, and did I mention that "L" slit her wrist?  I just un-bandaged it and re-wrapped it with clean gauze.  Its fairly deep and the bleeding doesn't seem to be stopping.  She is trying to decide if she should go to the doctor or not and wondering if they will report it as a suicide attempt.  She said it wasn't, it was just something she did when she was having a panic attack and "snapped".  I am staying out of it.  She's certainly not bleeding to death of anything or I would take action.  I just rather have her go tell her mom about it.

It concerns me to learn that she is just as unstable as Keven.  Speaking of him, he just got home.  I hope he tells me what the dr. said.

You know what Barbara? Shit happens. But it's just temporary. This too shall pass. Just a little bump in the road, but you can handle it. Are you taking care of yourself? you're going to have to make sure you are taking care of you, to survive the onslaught. If I could, I would make it all better for you and wisk you away to someplace wonderful. Damn girl. When it rains it pours, right? Keep blogging. I really think you are a phenomenal human being. Although it oftens seems that the compassionate response costs us, in the end, it is always the right thing in my opinion. Much more of this and you're going to have get some government funding and put up a shingle "Barbara's house of recovery and rehabilitation" :)

I laughed out loud at that last line! :) Thanks. Your words were just what I needed. Sometimes just getting it out helps.

Your awesome the way you are helping people in need, as long as you are taking the time out to look after yourself. As Tonjia said, this will pass. All the best.

When it rains, it pours. Or, if it isn't one thing (person), it's another. And, it is all landing on your shoulders. There must be a reason for that. You clearly are the strong and dependable one - the go-to-gal.
Like everyone says, you need to stay strong for the onslaught. So, you have to take care of yourself the best you can. That is probably easier said than done...
I hope the doctor had something positive to say.
xx kris
