The Morning After...

Last night this an old Duran Duran song kept playing in my mind:

"Don't say a prayer for me now, save it for the morning after...."

BUT, its the morning after and I feel okay BECAUSE you prayed.  Because you CARE.   Because you, the people who read this blog, have never left my side, have continued to support me and encourage me and educate me and hold my hand.

THANK YOU.

There is no update at this time.  He's sleeping.

I feel a peace at the moment because in a way, its like I was holding my breath for 9 months waiting and wondering if this would happen.

Each of your comments was so helpful.  I don't even know how to express how much this community means to me, but I think many of you understand.

More later :)

Peace, Hope and Love, Barbara

I'm sorry Kevin felt the need to use.You are right, there are positives in the situation. Sometimes it takes what it takes and it sounds like just maybe he has hit some sort of emotional bottom. I will pray that he uses those feelings as motivation to get himself busy working on recovery.

Maybe that peace you are feeling is your own surrender? Please take care of YOU. Do something nice for yourself today - you deserve it.

Each of us cares and wants peace for you and for Keven to also to find drugfree living. I talked with a friend in the program who said that those who actually get a tough sponsor, do service work and work the 12 steps toward a spiritual solution have a much better chance. Those eho relapse over and over are still scamming themselves and others. I hope today is the first day of a new life for Keven.

You and your son are in my prayers. By the grace of God I haven't relapsed but I remind myself everyday that it can happen to me just as quickly as it can happen to anyone else. I hope that you and your son get through this and if you need any support that I can give, I am here as I'm sure many of your readers are.

Love to you too! Thank God you found some peace - even for a moment - in the midst of everything. Take care of yourself, and God is with you taking care of K.
Love & hugs!

Please do whatever you need to do to keep this feeling of peace in the midst of chaos. We will be with you through it all, every step of the way, as you have been there for US.
Sending prayers, hugs and love

Barbara, no thanks are necessary. You are such a caring and loving human being and I feel blessed that I got to know you. Things will be ok. We are all praying for you and Keven.

Lord knows you have been there for all of us and that is what this blog family is for, so no thanks needed. I am relieved to know you are feeling some peace and will continue to pray for you and Keven. I agree with Syd, getting a sponsor and actually working the steps seems to be key in working the program. I hope K follows through with that and that you are able to let go and hold on to that peace. (((HUGS)))

Barbara,

I am just catching up here and sorry to hear about the use. However, the good part is that he admitted it and you are both making some changes.

9 months clean is awesome! He achieved 9 months. Hopefully, the next time he will do better.
